About Us

Kothari sons is a women’s luxury clothing store in Gwalior with the fifth generation working in the business. The store with a history of more than a hundred years has its own hand embroidery workshop employing 200 artisans who create exclusive sarees, stoles and textiles for the showroom as well as for export.

Our embroidery workshop started under the patronage of the Scindia Royal family is even older than the store. It dates back to the time when we created exquisitely embroidered mudhakals, angas, pagadis for the great grandparents of the present Maharaja and the other Royal families in MP and Rajasthan. The present Maharani, Priyadarshani Raje Scindia is one of our most esteemed clients and a frequent visitor to the store.

We were the only store in Gwalior invited to participate in an exhibition of royal ensemble/attire presented by her at the Jai Vilas Palace, Gwalior to promote the handcrafted weaves of Chanderi. Apart from the royal collection, Kothari Sons was the only other store to showcase Chanderis from their looms.

Last year a new store was launched in Sarafa next to our flagship store for casual wear and gowns. A new 10000 Sq ft multilevel store in City centre is coming up this year to cater to the needs of our growing city.
